Let us notice again that Montfort insists on the point of faithfully practicing this devotion. We can never expect any results in the spiritual life if we are not consistent in our efforts. We must realize that before these fruits of devotion to Mary are experienced there must be laid very solid foundations.
Can Mary see in us definite efforts at imitating her virtues? Can she see a serious fulfillment of the promises made in the act of consecration? We make that consecration to ensure that our good works shall be used for the greater glory of God. Thus the True Devotion only becomes an excellent means of furthering God’s glory if we are faithful to it.
