4. Because Mary alone is the Treasurer and the Dispenser of all graces.
‘God has chosen Mary to be the Treasurer, the Steward, the Dispenser of all His graces, so that all His graces and all His gifts pass through her hands.’
S. Paul writes: ‘For if by the offence of one many died: much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.’
S. Paul enounces here the only sufficient and necessary cause of the Fall and of the Redemption, the dogma in its essence, all the facts and circumstances which explain it. S. Bernard, interpreting the apostolic thought, wrote in his Sermo de duodecim stellis these true and consoling words: ‘A man and a woman did us immense harm; but, God be thanked, even through a man and a woman all was made good, and not without a superabundance of graces.”
