Roman Forum (West)

Roman Forum (West)

In this photo of the western end of the Roman Forum, you can see the Column of Phocas (the largest column and just right of center), which dates from AD 608, and the ruins of the Basilica Julia behind it. The Temple of Saturn, with its columns, is to the right, behind the ruins of the Rostrum, and you can see on the right the back of a modern reconstruction of the Curia, the site of the chamber of the Roman Senate.
