The Virgin and Child

The Virgin and Child

In 1615, bronze statues of the Virgin and Child were added to this marble column, which came from the Basilica of Constantine in the Roman Forum. This column now stands in the Piazza di Santa Maria Maggiore on the Esquiline Hill.
